Androgenetic Alopecia

Androgenetic Al opecia is the most common form of Alopecia affecting both men and women of childbearing age. As the word says, it is a hereditary (genetic) phenomenon related to male hormones (andro).

It affects about 50% of under 50s and 80% of the over 50s. In men the disease appears in a circumscribed scalp area.

In women androgenic alopecia (baldness) is less frequent (about 30% of women) and usually appears as a generalized hair thinning all over the scalp.

Specific substances and custom-tailored medical-tricological treatments can, in some cases, slow down the disease’s aggravation only if they are applied quickly and correctly in the disorder’s early stage. It is a Definitive form of Alopecia (baldness): it aggravates gradually and irreversibly.

Whenever the Androgenic Alopecia (baldness) diagnosis is clear and final and the follicles atrophied, the only solution is via Surgery.
